The R5 NKP features intuitive controls and tactile buttons, plus simple status indications and controls so workers can focus on their tasks. This compact two way radio weighs in at just 285g with the standard battery – Motorola’s patented power-optimized IMPRES™ cell, which offers up to 32 hours of operation on a single charge.
 
Clear, loud, AI-enhanced audio cuts through background noise so communication gets through first time. The powerful built-in speakers provide an optional extra-loud audio profile for the most extreme of environments, while the AI noise suppression algorithm strips out anything in the signal that isn’t the user’s voice.
 
A built-in GNSS receiver means R5 devices can be located and tracked in real-time, helping to maintain a seamless link between workers and aiding both coordination and safety.
 
All of this is packaged in a compact, durable unit that’s built to last.  It is both waterproof and dustproof with an IP67 protection rating, and meets MIL-STD-810 standards for resilience against harsh environmental conditions like temperature changes and humidity, drops, vibration and other shocks. There’s also an intrinsically safe (IS) version with additional anti-ignition safety features for use in environments where flammable substances present a fire or explosion hazard.
