Motorola DP4601e

Motorola’s MOTOTRBO brand has been the main driving force moving forward Digital two-way radio technology with wave after wave of innovation and development. Now, with the latest E-Series release, Motorola has again set new standards in adapting two-way radio to meet the needs of both business and industry in the 21st Century.

The DP4601e is a partial-display model boasting crystal clear audio, prolonged battery life, advanced data integrations and multiple workforce safety protocols. With the advantages of the latest digital technology, the DP4601e is perfect for deployment in large-scale industrial environments, for use by supervisors and coordinators, as well as by skilled professionals, across a wide range of sectors.

Compatible with the MOTOTRBO range of advanced software solutions, the DP4601e can be used with advanced trunking systems to connect hundreds of users into a single network, with multi-site deployments where different radio networks are linked via broadband, and with multiple device configurations that allow interoperation between two-way radios, mobile phones, fixed line phones and more.

Motorola’s best-ever audio performance is delivered by the latest IMPRES amplifier system, intelligent volume control, SINC+ noise cancellation, acoustic feedback suppression and microphone distortion control. The outcome of this is, no matter what environment you are working in or how much background noise there is, calls can be heard loud and clear, with a minimum of interference and crisp, natural-sounding voice.

Tthe DP4601e two-way radio is ideal for large-scale, busy applications where it is likely for there to be heavy radio communications traffic. Users can choose whether to broadcast calls across the whole network, use Private Calling to send messages directly to individuals, or specify groups of recipients with Group Calling. The DP4601e also supports SMS messaging and can be integrated into telephone systems, along with built-in support for message dispatching and work ticketing.

One of the key innovations with the DP4601e is enhanced data connectivity which sees it support multi-constellation location tracking, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. None of which are available on the DP4601e’s sister model, the DP4600e.

Multi-constellation location tracking uses both GPS and GLONASS satellite systems. Using both in tandem ensures the highest level of accuracy in pinpointing location across wide areas. WiFi connectivity means firmware updates can be downloaded and installed automatically, while Bluetooth 4.0 can be used both to pair with beacons for indoor location tracking and for audio connections with wireless accessories.

Following an antenna redesign, the DP4601e boasts 8 percent better signal coverage than its predecessor, the DP4601. Thanks to the new IMPRES smart energy system, it now offers a maximum of 29 hours of battery life. It is also a handset built to withstand day-to-day knocks, certified to industry standards for shock, vibration and temperature extremes and with an IP68 rating for dust and water ingress.

Safety features designed to boost the protection of staff working in hazardous environments include a Lone Worker monitoring solution and Man Down, which uses an accelerometer to detect falls and trigger alarms automatically. There is also a one-touch emergency alarm button that transmits interrupt options for making urgent calls.
